So what is Engineering?

Engineering is basically defined as the discipline and profession of applying technical and scientific knowledge and utilizing natural laws and physical resources in the community.

There are many different routes in becoming an engineer. Some involve university studies, while others are more hands-on. Traditionally, you had to study Mathematics and Science at school if you wanted to go on to become an engineer, but things are no longer so black and white. There are now many more routes into the engineering profession and greater flexibility for you in terms of how you reach that goal.

When in college you must study mathematics plus a science. If you want a Bachelor in Engineering, it is a three year course; and for a Maasters in Engineering it is a four year course. Once you have graduated from college, you will need to complete a period of Initial Professional Development so that you can develop the technical and business skills necessary to reach chartered status (which is a good thing).

Solar Panels

Solar panels are devices that convert light into electricity. They are called solar after the sun or "Sol" because the sun is the most powerful source of the light to use. They are sometimes called photovoltaics which means "light-electricity". WIND

Wind is the renewable resource that has fueled trade throughout the world. Wind has been harnessed for over thousands of years. From providing wind filled sails for traveling explorers to providing electricity for many rural areas across America. A way that wind power can be used is by a wide range of generating capacities allowing wind turbines to fill a wide range of applications and sites.
